8-coller Acclimation

Since your pups are all about 3 months or older, it is time to start acclimating the pup to the 8 collar. Give them about a week to settle in before trying this;

Day 1-3 of head collar introduction

Let the puppy wear the head collar before meal time and feed them their meal while they’re wearing it. This will often distract them from the new sensation and create a positive experience with the food correlation. -Put kibble in bowl and place on a shelf or table within easy reach of you -Put the 8 collar on the pup and quickly put the bowl on the floor in front of the pup and quickly give 3 short whistle -Take off the 8 collar and pick up the bowl when they are done eating Play with them or give food reward with the head collar on (not out working or going busy yet). Do not let them wear the 8 collar without you being right there. It is your responsibility to replace any equipment that is damaged. Food reward, praise and interaction will distract the puppy from the new sensation and offer a positive experience with praise, food and the raiser involved. Allow the puppy to continue wearing the head collar a few times a day, starting with just several minutes. Slowly build up the time each day with the goal being that the pup is wearing the 8 collar for 30 seconds without fighting to get it off on day 3. If the pup is fighting to get it off, please contact your AC for more advise and do not progress forward in this process as outlined below.

Day 4

: It's time to start with short walks in low stimulating environments (like your neighborhood) with high rate of food reinforcement. Short walks might only mean 10 steps or it might be 1/2 block. High ror (rate of reinforcement) might mean a piece of kibble every few steps. This positive association will help keep their minds off the 8 collar during this acclimation process. If the pup is fighting walking and wearing the 8 collar, please contact your AC for further instructions.

Day 5

: Same as above.

Day 6

: Same as above extending the "short walks" to a little longer, still giving high rate of reinforcement as needed. If, at anytime they begin to fight the 8 collar, please notify your AC for further acclimation instructions.

Day 7

: The First Time in Public After the pup can successfully walk around your home area with the head collar on without rubbing or becoming distracted by it, they might be ready to wear it in public. This exposure should be about 10 minutes in slightly higher stimulating environments (like a quiet grocery store or library). Remember to use a high rate of reinforcement with your food reward and verbal praise, marking for LLW and maintaining the association between the 8 collar meaning food. If the pup starts pulling or becomes distracted, give distance between you and the distraction by using "touch". If the distraction is too high, you can pick them up and carry them past.

Beyond day 8

: Continue extending the walks and taking the pup in public with the head collar on with the goal being over the next week they can wear it all the time in all environments. If at any time the dog starts fighting the collar, please let us know, and we can help you out! Keep in mind that every pup is different, so some will catch on faster than others, and that is okay 😊 Of course, as always, please reach out to us if you have any questions/concerns or don’t seem to making any progress/are getting frustrated, and we are more than happy to help you out in any way that we can!

Full width, single column

No grid classes are necessary for full-width elements.

Two columns with two nested columns

Per the documentation, nesting is easy—just put a row of columns within an existing column. This gives you two columns starting at desktops and scaling to large desktops, with another two (equal widths) within the larger column.

At mobile device sizes, tablets and down, these columns and their nested columns will stack.

Mixed: mobile and desktop

The Bootstrap v4 grid system has five tiers of classes: xs (extra small, this class infix is not used), sm (small), md (medium), lg (large), and xl (extra large). You can use nearly any combination of these classes to create more dynamic and flexible layouts.

Each tier of classes scales up, meaning if you plan on setting the same widths for md, lg and xl, you only need to specify md.
