As seen, this thesis has presented a simple query tool for querying XML documents stored in a database. QT4XML is a visual query builder with the underlying grammar based on the XML grammar. This relieves the user from learning a new query language. Only the constraints formed using the QT4XML grammar have to be entered by the user, the remaining query requires only a few mouse clicks. The regular expression operators and wildcard character provided, can be used very effectively to query documents where the exact query criteria is unknown. QT4XML allows for the building of even complex queries in an intuitive manner. It also provides for joins across different XML documents. On the database side, QT4XML provides for runtime mapping between XML data and OODBMS storage structures and uploading of data at runtime. Thus, querying is simple and effective with QT4XML.
