All the problems are from Ch. 2 or 3 of the text by Lewis
and Denenberg.  Each problem or part is worth 10 points.

Ch. 2: 9, 13, 16, 17, 18 

Ch. 3: 2(a), 2(b)*, 4, 13, 15

* For 2(b), suppose that the length of the list is n and that there
  are exactly k runs in the list.  Express your answer in terms of
  n, k, C, and V.
