May 1988 - August 1989  :  Involved in a research project titledStrategies for Coupling Symbolic and Numerical Computation in Knowledge-based Systems sponsored by the Northeast Artificial Intelligence Consortium. The research laid special emphasis on the coupling of symbolic and numerical computation of knowledge-based computer vision systems.

September 1985 - September 1986 :  Involved in a research project titled. A Knowledge-based Routing Expert sponsored by IBM Corporation. The project involved the design and implementation of a rule-based expert system for the automated embedding of overflows (unwired nets) from the output of an algorithmic router used for the wiring of nets in a typical VLSI chip.

Summer Intern :   Tata-Unisys (INDIA) Pvt. Ltd.,  May 1982 - September 1982. Involved in design and fabrication of test equipment for disk drives and dot matrix printers.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Taught graduate-level courses in computer vision, image processing, computer graphics, computer architecture, computer networks and data communications, parallel processing and database systems. Taught undergraduate courses in discrete mathematics, computer programming, algorithms, data structures, database systems and computer architecture.

Teaching Assistant :  Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Syracuse University. September 1983 - May 1985. Taught sophomore- and junior-level courses in electrical and electronic circuit analysis.
