Professional Activities
The services I have performed include university and departmental services as well as external services in semantic web, information systems and databases research communities. I am very enthusiastic for giving back to these communities, apply useful ideas for research and education at higher organizational levels, and provide more exposure for my work through discussion, review and exchange of ideas. Furthermore, my active participation in professional and scholarly activities beyond UGA had a significant impact on recognition of UGA-CS as one of the prominent departments, especially in the field of semantic web. These activities include organizing a premier international conference on semantic web, serving in program committees of various international conferences including leading database and semantic web conferences, and participating in several NSF panels.
